One of the most beautiful par-3s in the world, the 14th at the Ocean Course at Hokuala also happens to be a great golf hole. This hole is a carryover from the course’s pre-renovation days, and Jack Nicklaus knew not to not fix what wasn’t broken.

With Nawiliwili Harbor serving as the backdrop for a grip-tightening shot over an ocean chasm, the tee shot must carry the crooked shoreline to find safety beyond. Anything short is gone. The good news is the wind blows from the right, and you have plenty of bailout room right of the green.

However, the resulting downwind pitch is hardly a simple shot. Depending on the pin position, your pitch may need to carry a bunker and put on the brakes before running out of real estate and heading down the cliff. Take your pictures, accept whatever score you make, and head happily to the next tee.
