Go Golf Kauai Tips: Playing Hole 13 at Ocean Course Hokuala

Posted By: Mike Dauplaise, Golf writer

Ocean Course Hokuala
No. 13 – Par 4

(474/437/411/354)

Don’t let the strong yardage fool you. This hole plays downhill and typically downwind, so a good tee shot will leave you with nothing more than a short to middle iron to the green. This should be only a moderately difficult hole for most players.

A series of five bunkers down the right side impinges the landing area. A small, lone bunker that guards the roll-out area down the left side acts like a magnet as the fairway slopes that direction.

The ocean provides a picture-perfect backdrop, and back pin positions invite trouble for those who get too aggressive. This is the beginning of a fantastic series of holes on the Ocean Course.
