Summer may be winding down where you live, but the sun never fades in Kauai. The last month of summer on the “Garden Isle” was filled with exciting news and events.
August 15: Timbers Kauai announces partnership with Kauai Beach Boys
Timbers Kaua‘i Ocean Club & Residences at Hōkūala, the new 450-acre oceanfront destination which features golf amenity the Ocean Course at Hokuala, announced a new partnership with the Kauai Beach Boys. Imbued with the history of the Hawaiian surfing tradition of the ‘50s and ‘60s, Kauai Beach Boys is the island’s original surf school and beachside concession. Founded on the values of Kaua’i legend Percy Kinimaka, the original Kalapaki Beach Boy, the expert instructors share his legacy and love for the ocean. The partnership launch coincides with the unveiling of The Beach Club, the new beach headquarters for Timbers Kauai Owners, guests and families that will provide premier access to watersports instruction and an array of ocean adventures around Kauai.
August 16: Timbers celebrates the launch of the Beach Club with a Wednesday Waves event.
A once a month event hosted by Timbers Kaua’i Ocean Club & Residences, August’s Wednesday Waves celebrated the launch of the activity-rich Beach Club. Highlighting the new partnership with the Kauai Beach Boys, lessons and equipment were provided to all attendees. Surfing, boogie-boarding, snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, and catamaran rides provided fun for all on Kalapaki Beach. Cocktails and fresh white pineapple smoothies made it a truly enjoyable Hawaiian evening.
August 22: First Kauai Golf Hui
Hui is Hawaiian for a joining or meeting. At Kauai’s first Golf Hui, representatives from our featured golf courses joined on the North Shore of the Island at Princeville Makai Golf Club. Distant storm clouds couldn’t overshadow the ambiance of the evening as the smiling bunch enjoyed sunset golf and views of stunning cobalt blue waters on the award-winning course and the. When it came down to business, the group discussed the exciting future of our Kauai Golf destination and gained insight and updates on the golf industry from Mr. Kris Strauss, Senior Vice President of Troon’s Sales & Marking.
August 30: Travel Weekly – Technology, amenities are boosting the golf experience across Hawaii
Travel Weekly, a leader in travel industry news, highlights golf innovation, the outstanding courses in Kauai and how Go Golf Kauai technology is streamlining the booking experience. “Technological innovations are making golfing in Hawaii more accessible than ever, and course directors are continuing to eye the next big innovation that will spark the interest of upcoming generations of golfers,” reads the article. Since GoGolfKauai.com’s launch in May, five top Kauai courses have joined the golf packages website and plans to add more partners and features are imminent.
